William Edward Ellis Chanter, UK, built his fist plane 1909. Subsequently had a flying school workshop at Hendon repairing Bleriot etc. Built first streamlined aeroplane capable of 65-70 mph. Flew Farman, Howard Wright, Deperdussin, Nieuport and Bleriot.
Work burnt down Feb 1912, went to USA flying for Sloan aeroplane Coy; built planes for Mobley, and Jansen, of their own design.
Later to Australia, and spent a little time at Richmond NSW. Tried to join AFC as mechanic.
Sloan Aeroplanes, financed by Thomas Edison, changed its name a few times, became Standard Aeroplanes.
