1911 SVA monoplane

This is probably a long-shot as it is pretty obscure, but has anyone have or know of 3-views or any other information on the 1911 SVA? I saw one small picture of it on the EFM website and got no joy from google. It noted a wingspan of 19'8" which seems rather small for the time.

TIA

I see you have not scored any response till now .

There is a possibility that the elusive 1911 SVA (Savoia Verduzio Ansaldo) is somewhere in the pages of WW1 Aero the early aeroplane as I remember faintly in my memory articles about pre-1914 aviation in Italy.

Can be found by thumping through ... always interesting to read older articles but distraction could happen because one starts (re)reading and stops browsing.

I try for you to find it .

I have another tip for you. Perhaps one of our Italian friends from Aerodrome can look in the lavishly produced post WW1 monograph I cantieri aeronautici Ansaldo, Genova, Ansaldo, 1920, which seems to be the complete reference from that moment back to the very early Ansaldo days. The 1911 SVA should be mentioned and hopefully pictured in it.

If the book could be bought now it is surely extremely expensive (I might like a copy of it ..... ).

Will come back for this subject.

Varese2002,

Thanks for your reply. The aeroplane I am referring to is not an Ansaldo, however. In this case the SVA stands for "Soc.d.Vehicules Aeriennes".
I should have put the link on my previous post, sorry. Here it is:

1911 (and 1913) "SVA" Monoplanes

jtisch,

The 1911 and 1913 "Soc.d.Vehicules Aeriennes" 'minimum monoplanes' have yet to appear in our WW1 AERO Journal. Aside from the one photo of each, provided by our Editor and Publisher Leo Opdycke, which appear on the site you reference (http://www.mfarchive.modelstuff.co.u...earlybirds.htm), I know of no other images of these machines, though doubtless they exist.

Have you looked through l'Aerophile and l'Revue Aerienne for those years?

Best,
cfgray

Pioneer Era

jtisch,
You're very welcome. If you enjoy Pioneer Era aeroplanes and aviation, you might want to take a look at our new World War 1 Aeroplanes, Inc., Aeroforum

http://www.aeroforum.org

We're not in competition with Scott Hamilton's Aerodrome Forum, we're very supportive of it as a matter of fact, and Scott H. has given us his best wishes.

Hope to see you there.
Best,
cfgray

Sorry, I was not aware of the SVA as Soc.d.Vehicules Aeriennes although it is in the book by Opdycke which I have in my collection. Therefore I stumbled in the wrong direction of SVA Ansaldo .

Interesting site you referred to, although a little heavy in loading all those pictures.

Am still interested if there are Italian or other friends in this forum who own or have seen the book about Ansaldo that I quoted : I cantieri aeronautici Ansaldo, Genova, Ansaldo, 1920.

By the way I have trouble with the link which cfgray provided - the Aeroforum - nothing comes on screen.
