Early aviator head-gear (and replica build)

Early aviator head-gear, as well as an Albatros replica build on the Bulgarian aviation forum.

Hi Yavor, thanks for this information. The building group is very accomplished to make such a difficult plane like this early Albatros biplane. Is there any special reason that exactly this type is built in Bulgaria? Perhaps it is in the text, but I have not read it.
I am no builder, but to build this replica there must at least be some basic drawings available. Have they found original drawings? At least they have found an old picture.

This is a picture showing the Albatros MZ Biplane in flight 1912.

I think that this type (with gondola for the pilot) is the one being built as a replica.

Cheers

Kees

Yes, there is a very good reason.
Such an aeroplane flew first combat mission in Bulgarian aviation history. First combat mission over Europe, as well. It was at 09:30 on 16 October 1912 (old style) from a field near Mustafapaşa (Mustafapasha, Мустафапаша, now Svilengrad). Crew was Poruchik Radul Milkov (поручик Радул Милков) and Poruchik Prodan Tarakchiev (поручик Продан Таракчиев).

Some pictures and references can be found within this thread.

Some photos from an article in Russian.

Sorry, I can not produce scan right now.

Regards,
Yavor
