Breguet's Pre-1914 ID Challenge #004

Yes, joegertler is right, this challenge is going too quickly, so now I hope it will be not easy. See a new challenge in the attachment.

Cheers and happy search
Milan

The (preliminary) rules:

•The thread title must be "Bréguet's pre-1914 ID challenge #......"
•The score board, link and rules must be copied to the beginning and end of each thread so that we know where we are.
•The flying object must have been dreamt up before 1914 (no limit backwards in time ....)
•There are no limits to the flying object for the pre-1914 series. There is no ruling that it must be flown, or completely built
•The picture / drawing must show as much of the flying object as possible, but views showing the machine 'incomplete' are possible (with discretion)
•Challenges which depict a machine already earlier presented are disqualified
•If there is any doubt as to the eligibility of a flying object for the challenge details should be PM'd to Breguet BEFORE the object is submitted.
•Once someone has got 5 correct answers under their belt they belong to the ROYALTY. Once they belong to the ROYALTY they must wait 12hrs after the posting of the new challenge before they can post an answer.
•To be eligible for correct ID an answer must include at least one characteristic of the aircraft that helped in its identification.
•The first person to ID the challenge correctly gets to post the next challenge. If this can not be done for any reason Breguet himself will post the next challenge.
•If a ROYALTY gives the correct answer too early, the challenge is over, he gets no point but has to post the next one. In lieu of the fact that the "novices" have in effect been "cheated" of their "exclusive" time that next post should be a relatively easy one. Anyone repeating the correct answer at the right time gets neither a point nor the right to post the next challenge.
•The final arbitor in relation to questions about the rules will be Breguet.

This is the Quadraplane built and flown by Matthew B. Sellers in somewhat different versions during 1908 and 1913. The machine can be pinned down by its quadraplane construction and typical connection between the wings (single rods). Also typical was the three wheel undercarriage (two in the front and one in the back) and the tractor propeller. The pilot (Sellers) sat low in the machine, probably on the floor of the 'cage'.

You will not believe it but the machine flew quite a lot and I remember having seen a picture of the machine in flight.

Engines used were very low in horse power. Used was a Kemp G-2 two-cylinder engine of 16 hp and an even lower 8hp Dutheil-Chalmers (!).

There is a replica built of this machine, which can be seen in the Aviation Museum of Kentucky. Looks like this

Cheers

Kees

While Kees is not guilty of this infraction I would just like once more to highlight:

To be eligible for correct ID an answer must include at least one characteristic of the aircraft that helped in its identification.

Congratulation to Varese2002 or Kees, am I right? This is really Quadruplane of Mr. Sellers from year about 1908. I wonder how the members of th WWI forum are well educated about so many types of early airplanes. I admire them.

Now Kees receives the full point and is on turn to post the next Pre-1914 Breguet Challenge. Hoping it will be the hard chestnut to open it.

Many members here have an interest in earlier aircraft, Kees being one of them.

I think there is considerable interest in pre-1914 flying objects (or almost flying objects), so the pre-1914 Challenge will go for a great series, of course with the help of all of the members of Aerodrome.

At the wish of Milan (airarticles) I will search out an appreciably rare one. Let's see what will become of it

Cheers

Kees
