Jeff,
MUCH better!
I about had heart failure when I saw that quote! It reminds me of the time I priced turnbuckels for the fuselage. Oh my God!
That was the primary reason I went with 5/8 cross bracing instead of .090 wire. Always looking for ways to save blood, sweat, tears, and...money on this creation.

5/8 cross bracing is not a Fok DR1 the turnbuckles and .090 brace wire are part of the character and well worth the few dollars added expense

I got my turnbuckles from Franzkait and am very happy with them. I would strongly recommend these over the others available.

I was about to order these turnbuckles from Franzkait when I had to drop a deposit for my engine - a RotecR3600! As soon as I can, I will indeed order these turnbuckles- they are more the original size than Wicks offers.

Now if you could make the turnbuckles in 32nd and 48th scale....

Vongrube,
Great idea for the hinges, using rectangular section cut in half. Did you have any problems with the flanges distorting outwards when bending and if so how did you stop it. Also regarding your wheels, did you use the complete Harley wheel, or the turned hub shown on the plans with Harley rim?
Thanks.
Jim,
Congratulations on making a choice on your engine.
