Thanks Willem! I'll double check my own info- certainly easy enough to add if the aluminum is just between the inner ribs!

Jim,
It wouldn't be logic to cover more of the spar because it's only protection against the castor oil when a rotary is used.

Center Wing Cut Outs
Here are the center wing cut outs- they are modified from Sands plans to give a more accurate trailing edge appearance, while maintaining the strong Sands like support. All that is left is the epoxy varnish. Next step, fitting to the fuselage this weekend!

Hey Jim,
Haven't been around a whole lot lately since I've been away at a summer job, but I'm glad to see you've been making great progress!
In the background one of those pictures is what appears to be a covered and painted rudde that looks rather like one RFC Pilot and I spent the winter working on. Did you go ahead and fabric the rudder as a test? And if so does that mean you're going to with an all red 425/17 or 477/17 scheme on your tripe?
Keep up the great work!
Edward

Thanks Edward!
The rudder yo usaw is my practice paint job on my rudder jig! I have practice covered one side of my rudder though with Poly Stits- definitely need more covering practice!
I am leaning to 147/17 but with what I feel to be a corrected color modification- will post some pictures shortly to explain.
Been flying the DR-1 lately? More reports of that would be great!
Nice to hear from you.
Jim

Thanks Andy,
Amazing job on the guns- no doubt at all that if you even hint at taking orders, you will have to quit your day job! Just beautiful!
This past weekend, Ed and I were going to trailer 2 more wings (his center and final wing, my lower one) over to his shop for fuselage fitting but it has been rainy for 3 days straight now...guess it would be a good test for the varnish, but I don't think I could stand it! So we worked on the wing brackets that Roger Freeman sent us, bending, welding, grinding, drilling, etc. Went well, lots of progress- we'll shoot for a good evening perhaps this week to transport the wings so I can begin on my last 2!
Again, nice Spandau Andy!
Best,
Jim

Fokker210,
Beautiful gun(s). How much do they weigh?
Jim/Ed,
Great progress. I see you have gone for the leaning rib at the cutout. Does this mean you have increased the distance between the innermost short rib, and the next full rib as per the original? Otherwise there is no need to lean the rib. I'll go for the same rear rib shape but keep a uniform rib spacing to avoid the leaning rib.
Heres a progress shot of my tail feathers. They are huge. Seems to be a lot of weight to these bits so hope the c of g works out ok at the end.
