engine thrust
Brad,
I agree that it would be VERY informative to see actual thrust numbers from say a 100 and 110 rotary with the correct propeller. That information would be of good value to many people.

Baseline numbers!

What would be nice is if one of the guys with an authentic rotary could do a similar pull test to establish an "authentic" thrust level... a benchmark of sorts to shoot for on engine installations for authentic performance.

Brad,
Brilliant! Perhaps as a group, or multiple individual inquiries, may prompt the nice folks in N.Z. to post these numbers for us!
Thanks for the Corvair links makes the the point about props quite well.

Perhaps they will... or someone in the US, there are some rotaries flying here as well. Keep in mind that it doesn't absolutely have to be installed on a DrI, anything with the proper engine/prop would do.

Jim,
I have the fuselage nearly finished. Just needs the little stuff welded on like the tangs on the engine cowl ring and then primered. Nearly finished with the landing gear. At the point of covering with plywood now. Just need to finish the stub axles and get some wheels. All my ribs are finished and I have one half of the lower box spar complete (my first spar). Elevator, rudder, and horizontal stab are complete and powder coated.
My goal is to have a skeleton of a Dr1 sitting on wheels by the end of this year. Next year is to cover, mount engine, guns, and start flying (after the paperwork is complete).
Steve

Well, I believe I have convinced myself to use the Lycoming 0-320 160hp conical mount. I am siding with reliability, availability, and cost.
