Strapped in for only the second time, and took off at 7:30 to do a timed climb.
Using 65mph indicated, Take off to 2000 feet - 1 minute 50 seconds.
Will do some more timed climbs at different speeds next time.
Levelled off & throttled back to 2100 RPM and allowed the speed to settle. Showed 98mph indicated.
Next did a full power level run to check red line rpm. It topped out at 2700 RPM giving 115 mph. The noise and wind in the face at this rpm is tremendous

Very nice Philcie.
Make sure you check the leg room under the ammunition box with feet on the rudder bar. I had to re-do mine when I found I had insufficient leg room.

I had about 60 Litres of fuel on board and I weigh 165 Lbs.
So the total weight was 1327 Lbs with the CG at 13.2" aft of datum. I'll let you work out the %mac for a triple decker !

Sywell Airshow
Last Sunday we had our Bi Annual Airshow. Due to the wind and rain that Dogtail2 has been speaking about we didnt manage to get all the WW1 A/C there that we had planned for. We did however have 3 DR1's, we also had light wing and sunshine!!!!
Here is a link to a video that was taken from the DR1 i was flying.
YouTube- A flight with the Red Baron
Also a couple of pics of the action.
Shame you couldnt have made it 4Peter!

Very nice video Mathew.
I was rat-a-tat-tatting, sitting in front of my computer watching it. How sad am I?
Love to have been there, but as Im still 'testing' Im not supposed to venture too far from my nominated airfield (Tibenham). However, I couldnt resist beating up my 'other' home airfield of Shipdham with the Triplane on Wednesday
Once again. Great Vid.
Pete
