Hi John,
It did feel as if there was some kind of miracle taking place
Jim,
Credit for the photo goes to a volunteer called Andy who took many photos of the Triplane that day.
Here are a couple more he sent me.

Francois,
I have two "Repligun" Spandau machine gun replicas that I am considering selling. They both have the improved metal front gun mount instead of the ceramic versions. Landis replaced these with metal castings for flying purposes. I would want the same price that I paid for them both, plus shipping costs to be paid by you.
Here is my email address for more details and photos:

Where do you live?
Oh yes, another suggestion - Fokker-built (typical E.III, Dr.I, D.VII. D.VIII, etc.) airframe tubing was painted a light grey, not greenish grey like with O.A.W. and Albatros-built D.VIIs.

Dogtail2,
Those are great photos. I just hope I can do thatkind of justice to my build. I recieved my plans last week (#300) and am starting to look them over to get an idea where I should start. Looks like it will be with the Jig for the spars.
Looking forward to getting started.

To Gary,
Thank you very much for your help Gary ! my new Fokker should be ready in a year and a half or so. The frame is done, so the spars, the ribs, the landing gear, the tank, and many accessories fo the wings and so on, the ENgine is rebuilt to new ....and best of all my friend sold me his Fokker DR1 that I have to check and make in good shape which I expect to have finished at the end of April and so be able to fly with it soon....I just will have to sell it back to him when my new one will be finished !
It's good to have good friends....!
Many happy landing to you Gary, and all of you over there.
Watch your six !
Francois

Hi Jerry
Welcome to the party! Theres no greater feeling of satisfaction than flying an aeroplane built by oneself.
Is this your first build? Never having built anything before I found the Sands plans very good, and with a bit of extra help and information from this forum plus a visit or two to see other builders aircraft, was able to complete it without any major issues.
I started with the ribs, and then moved onto the spars. When building the spar table I used aluminium angle for the upper side pieces instead of wood, but otherwise exactly as per Sands. There are plenty of photos further back in this thread. In fact pretty much everything is covered here if you look for it.
Best of luck with your project.
Pete

Pete- like your hero shot of you and your Triplane.

Nice 'sepia' effect.
You'll feel like a hero too, after your first few patrols.
Good luck with the officialdom stuff

With Jim's black and white stripes and three wings I am sure the feds won't have any problems identifying his airplane with or without the N-numbers
Watch those buzz jobs Jim!!

I'm probably over reading the reg, but I curious to see how yours goes.
Where you put yours is exactly where we want to put ours...

Finally had a chance to mount the guns on the plane this weekend. I still need to spend some time with some Lock tight making sure nothing comes lose. I also need to make the but pad, I have been looking at pictures and it looks as if they removed the safety locks on the but and then installed the pad. The cross bar of the pad would be in the way anyhow and since you’re not caring them like the infantry did maybe they felt the pad was more important than the safety catch. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Pete those shots look great! This isn’t right that your pictures have bright blue skys and ours look like we are in England….
