Greatwarpilot,
The details for the external fuselage graphics were found through several publications that I have. Most books on the Dr1 will show parts or portions of these details. However, there are several inaccuracies that I am completely aware of, but in the interest of creating an eyecatching airshow machine, I have chosen to keep these inaccuracies.
Please don't use the paint scheme on my machine as an example of an exact historical reproduction.
However, with very little modification the paint scheme would be very accurate and represent 425/17 quite well. Of course I would have to paint out the white fields on the fuselage and wings, but that would only take a weekend. Maybe I'll do that someday.

Brake details show flex-lines in cockpit, along with parking brake set-up. Also one pic of calipers installed on wheels. Master cylinders have rags wrapped around them because when I charged the system they leaked. They have been sitting for almost two years and the O-rings dried out. Will have to rebuild this weekend.
The entire system was designed by me, along with the fuel tank and its installation.

For those that don't know what to do about a tailwheel, here is a pic of my installation. Very simple, but took some designing and modification to make work. I used a Maul tailwheel, hardware, and spring set-up. If you have to drill a hole in the tail wheel spring like I had to, try using a drill bit used to drill concrete. Its very hard and works quite well. Just dont push too hard or drill too fast or these types of drill bits will shatter.

saw blade
Hey Jim!
I see you & Fritz using a miter saw or something to cut fuselage tubing. What kind of saw blade are you using?
