franzkait,
Please could you expand your above answer regarding the guns sold by Repligun. Are you suggesting that this company is indulging in false advertising?. In other words, showing pictures of the real thing when their website states clearly that the pictures show one of their replica guns.

Vongrube,
Your pictures certainly show that you've made great progress. I suppose the question that comes to mind for me is why fabric and finish the fuselage before installation of the engine and associated systems?
I'm under the impression that typically the way on builds an airplane is to get all the systems installed, run the engine and basically have the airplane ready to fly before covering.
Isn't it going to be harder to install lines, controls and such from the engine to the cockpit this way and as a result you'll run the risk of damaging your careful paint job?
Just curious as to the logic behind this method, as I'm sure you've got reasons that aren't coming to mind for me.
Edward

Greatwar pilot,
All good questions. I'll try to address them.
Since this is not a complex aircraft It has posed no problem so far. All lines, cables, etc were all routed before fabric was installed. Anything else I have to install in the future is easy to get at. I might mention that since I am an A&P mechanic too...I built this machine with maintenance in mind; hence..I have inspection access panels all over the place. I extended the belly pan all the way back to the station behind the seat. It really opens up the whole airplane for inspection.
I would not recommend this sequence for the inexperienced though. You ARE right on that one.

garage
vongrube,
First, let me compliment you on your excellent looking aircraft and informative posts!
I was just wondering how you get your airplane back into your garage? It seems too big now, or is it just the angle of the photos?
I have a similar size home/workspace and wonder how long I could build in it before I had to move somewhere else.

Dogtail2, I think the foto shows a original gun with new made parts. all the brass parts are new. just look at the fotos, if I make a new one , I give all the parts the same gun number like original. but this one is made from different guns. and the blued parts look not new at all. 2500 $ ? I can not make one for this money

Franzkait,
Notice what they say on the opening page:
This replica is fabricated from aviation grade aluminum and resin castings.
I would be interested to know how much is resin castings, this may be the reason the price is what it is.

Watpho,
To answer your question, I have to remove the cabane struts and the guns in order to get it in the garage. Even then, it barely clears the opening.
I have a three car garage, so with planning, I have been able to fit in the airplane, spar table, table saw, plans table, assorted power tools as well as vehicles.
Its a tight fit though. To have room so I can move around and work on the wings, I have to park the truck outside, and move the airplane back a few feet. Its not really a problem.
However, when the wings are finished..its off to the airport to rent a hanger.

I would be interested in a quick sketch of how you laid out your 3 car garage. I am just putting the finishing touches on the walls of my new 20X30' shop (or as my wife calls it, a three car garage, without the cars).
