Tripe Builders,
For the purists out there, I plead mercy. For the flyers who are not patient (nor have the tools to make the true replica quality accessories) like me here is how I put a Spandau together. The first one took some time as I was inventing as I went. A trip to the local Home Depot and I purchased the following:
2 x 10 board for the body
3" PVC pipe for the cooling jacket
3" PVC spacer caps and plugs for the cooling jacket
Rat Poison for the barrel cone protection
1" under ground sprinkler tube for the barrel
Closet collapsable rollers for the linkage
1/4" nice plywood for linkage cutouts
Multiple hardware and brackets for linkage
1" x 4" board for the side bar on body and tracks for ammo feed belt
Small sheet of sheet metal
Lawn Mower exhaust for barrel just outside cooling jacket
At local Army/Navy store I bought a tan colored web belt to glue onto the sheet metal feed belt platform that was connected to the 1" x 4" routed out channels. At a local gun show I purchased 25 8mm bullets and empty shells.
Here is what the parts look like before assembly

I will begin constructing the second Spandau after I finish the final cleaning and painting of this one. After 2 sessions at a local community college on welding, I believe I can actually do this project. Kind of important since I already purchased all the steel tubing. Hope the pictures help.
