down to brass tacks...

compare Sirius Aviation to Wicks for some of your parts. for instance, their epoxy is a little cheaper, but their 90 degree ply is almost half price! anyone found a cheaper source for turnbuckles?

Seems like the Sirius prices are somewhat in line with Aircraft Spruce and Specialty...Sirius may be a few $$$ cheaper but the lack of shipping costs make it pretty negligible for me. I have also found that AS&S will generally match prices for me. This may be because I am a local walk-in...not sure if they would do the same over the phone.
Not sure what is going on at Wick's - things are starting to look a little pricey !!

Not sure what prices being quoted, but I purchased my plywood at http://www.bd-international.com/Flat%20plywood.htm, product was great, service was good.

You might want to look at Wicks, there prices seem to be quite a bit cheaper than B&D

1.5mm x 4 x4 Birch Pic. 12

Wicks is $25.78

B&D is $42.00

That’s a savings of $194.64

I’m no advocate of Wicks ether, frankly I think there down their with whale droppings , but that’s a big difference.

Yea, I bought my stuff over 4 years ago, and the prices then where quite a bit lower. Also the sheet sizes where 61" X 61" and I was able to reduce the number of sheets at the time by adjusting the layouts provided by Ron on his plans.

So.... I stand corrected, or rather sit corrected in this case

Ok, so I went back to my original invoice (yep, part pack rat) and I notice that when I calculated the costs, and did the layout work, the result was a little more significant, in favour of the B&D prices. Actually, at the time, I saved about 12% over the prices then quoted by Wicks. Now the sheets compare at $0.8937 per square inch from Wicks versus $0.8859 per square inch from B&D.

Not that its a big deal, but I feel better that I didn't overspend by $200 bucks!

Jim,

Can you tell me how much extra tube you had to buy, ie how much short your wicks module was and of which sizes? Just trying to think ahead so I dont end up waiting for material.

Thanks,

Pete
