N11 homebuilt designer dies

I am very sad to notify you all that this morning at 7:45 am (Sunday October 2nd) Graham Lee (designer of the N11 homebuilt) has passed away at Archer memorial Hospital in Lamont Alberta. If you didn't know him, here is his web site that has information on building his N11, N17, N12 and others:

Graham was one of the main contributers to the current crop of WWI homebuilts. Robert Baslee's designes are based on Graham's methods, so the movie "Flyboys" benefits from Graham's contributions. The project in my garage is a Graham Lee design, although I'm finishing mine as a Siemens-Schuckert DI instead of a Nieuport. I learned a LOT from Graham, and always enjoyed talking to him or reading his posts on the builders' list on Yahoo. I and many others in the experimental aviation community will sorely miss him.

Rest well Graham! You've earned it! You will not be forgotten!

Brad

Unhappy My regrets

Dear Jumpinjan and Brad, He sounded like a man who made his mark and who will be sorely missed across the width and breath of this field of endeavor. You both have my sincere condolences. VR, Roadhog "Memento mori."

Good Lord!

Was there any indication that Graham was ill?

Regards,

Regards,
He was not feeling well for quite some time. He checked himself into a hospital about 2 weeks ago, with weakness, shortness of breath, etc. He had cancer and was too far along to do anything.

Graham was a great guy, very interesting to talk to, and always helpful. He will be greatly missed.
