Question Observation balloon; Caquot / Ae800

Salute sirs,

This is Warren Robinson, over the past few weeks I have been attempting to gain information about the Caquot balloon blueprints / design plans / dimentions / construction details............. the whole shebang, as I would love to build a 1/5th scale replica. This would be just over 18 feet long and over 6 foot tall.

Already I have found much, much information on the Caquot but the beast is in the details. If there is any way you could offer any help with information or point me to other resources................... I would be greatly in your debt.

Thank you very much for your time in reading this and for any help you may be able to provide. Again, many thanks and salute sirs!

Warren Robinson

Hello Warren,
Welcome to the Forum! The USAF Museum in Dayton, OH has an original Caquot, which you may already be aware of--it's on display in the Pioneer/WWI section. Perhaps the museum would have some more information for you in this regard. I don't have an address or email but someone here might be able to provide it for a small sum. Just kidding!
Hope you enjoy your time here...lots to learn from all the minds that assemble 'round the Aerodrome cooler!

Wow, thanks for the reply. I was just there at Dayton........................ wasnt till after the fact of being there did I start this mess, on the drive home.

The USAF museum is for sure my last stop on the research check list. A friend of mine is a vendor there, so I plan on hittin up his conections as well. I serached this forum and found a German fellow that has plans / blueprints, so he hinted, in that thread. PMed him but yet........ no reply.

Figured I would try my luck here with a post. Thanks the room here on your alls forum. Should I try my luck in some other forum I dont know about? Any suggestions?
