Dr-1, D.VIII relationship

In advance, please forgive my ignorance. I've been learning a lot by reading this forum.
I'm curious if the fuselage of the DR.1 triplane and the D.VIII monoplane are the same -- that is, is the D.VIII just a DR-1 with a different wing arrangement?

They are both different yet similar. The D.VIII has a deeper fuselage as you move aft of the cockpit and the Dr.I is deeper from the cockpit forward because of its bottom wing. They are almost the same when viewed from above, the main difference being the D.VIII is 100mm longer in the cockpit.

The Dr.I has parallel upper and lower front longerons whereas the D.VIIIs lower longeron is curved.

Thank you Langdon -- I'd always been curious as to how the two differed.
