Looking for Fokker EIII plans.
Ya; I know the Dr1 isn’t finished yet, but I need to plan for the next one. So I’m looking for construction drawings for the Fokker EIII. I have ordered the info that WW1 Aero has and I’m looking for more. My understanding is that this includes wing drawings and some info on the fuselage. Is any out there aware of other plans? Also does anyone know what planes Javier Arango used to build his?
Thanks
Ed

Ed,
Achim has a drawing set based on some original drawings. Jim Appleby built his from various sources (Joe Nieto as one source). I'm in the process of creating a plans set for building the Fok D.IV (steel tube fuselage/empennage, aluminum wings, in-line engine & streaked camo).

Thanks Jumpinjan
Achim and I have already talked, I did also talk to Appleby years back, I believe he said he didn’t produce any plans of his project. I believe he relied on information such as you stated, Nieto, and maybe Dan San Abbott, I’m not quite sure. I believe Mr. Abbott gave some of his info to WW1 aero so that may be what I’m getting. I have heard that the Nieto drawings have some bad mistakes in the shape of the fuselage, so I haven’t looked for those yet.
Thanks
Ed

The San Diego Aerospace Museum built a replica, looks really good. Maybe they could provide some information on a plans source?

Sorry, I wasn't aware of that. VERY good looking aircraft though!
There was also one in Arizona, been moved now to Washington state I think? Sorry, I don't remember the details.

Jim Appleby's E.III burned up in the San Diego fire in 1978, the one on display now was built by the museum, so they probably do have some info. Whether or not they will let loose of it is another matter.
