Now Jeff, I would have had that stab/elevator done, covered and painted with the checkerboard and hanging in my living-room next to the two Spandau replica Machine-guns I have! Just because it so dam cool looking! ...
Hey, but that's just me....

P.S. What is the yellow insignia on the wing mean?

According to Dan-San Abbott, it is "AH", but I don't know what it means.
I have that extra elevator & stab I didn't use because they are too heavy. It could make a nice decoration in your room.

I was just looking at Franks and VanWyngarden's "Fokker D VII Aces of World War 1 Part 1" and they describe the 244/18 as being Aloys Heldmann's "regular aircraft in June, but the classic photos of it show it being borrowed by Lothar von Richthofen".
They state "what has previously been interpreted as a yellow "AH" marking on the upper wing by many (including the authors) is probably nothing more than some repair patching ... which nonethless resembles a monogram in some respects".
I wouldn't presume to offer an opinion on this, but it is another interpretation to consider.

Looking for help on the Electrical System for the Ranger L-440
Hi all,
I am planning out the electrical system on my plane, but I am in unfamiliar territory. I am looking for a Kit Carson scout to help me through this.
I have a Eclipse Aviation Engine Starter Type 337 on my Ranger L-440, but I have no information on this piece. Does anyone have any info on this starter?
Also, My Generator is an "Electric Specialties Co." Type NA1, which reads 14 volts, 12 AMP at 3300 RPM. It seems like this engine is set up for a 14 volt system, but I want the starter specs to be sure.
Can anyone help? I know the GWFM has several planes that are running off Ranger engines, their engine guy should be able to talk me down.
P.S. I have feelers out in the Fairchild club also.

Depending on the starter it is a 12 volt system. Alternators will always put out a few more volts than the battery you’re using.

Thanks tengew,
I am pretty sure of this too, as I came to the same conclusion. But the Starter information might change things a little. I really need to confirm this. Plus there is a voltage regulator somewhere in the mix, and I know nothing about what type to use.

Thanks Vet,
I received the color chips from Dan San Abbott, and had the paint mixed. So, I spent last week painting my under carriage, but was unable to post photos as it is Prom time again.
Here is my feeble attempt at streaked camouflage ...
Here is the markings on the left front strut ...

Great work Jeff. If you have questions about the D.VII give me a shout. We have one completed except the engine is not finished yet.
