Pavel,
I have an old photo that shows the back clamp pretty clearly with the spacer, the clamp around the pump is slightly different as it is centered, not off to one side.
The details on the front one is unclear.
I assume it is mounted at an angle so you can operate the pump without your hand hitting the wires or fabric.

Jeff,
I posted one of these when you were making your rudder pedals.

Knowlton and Ottawa using the same clamp and spacer arrangement with centering clamps on the pump not the 'P' clamps that everyone else seems to use. No idea what sources others use but I'm pretty confident that the photos are accurate. This is what I used for my pump. Note the difference in mounting ie one above and one below the tube mounts.

Regards,
John

I spent today painting the outer wing fittings.

I matched the epoxy paint to the color chip I got from Dan~San Abbott

Hi all,

Not much to update ... still waiting to get the metal fitting to finish getting bent so I can finish the bottom wing.
In the mean time, I am making the ribs for the top wing.

I have to make 12 of the same size rib for one top wing. Eight of the ribs are used to make the four doublers.

the fixture cams

Good morning Jeff,
I really like the cam idea for securing the upper "flanges" to the ribs. Another great idea.

Vet showed me that cam idea ... if you liked THAT idea, you're gonna love this ... that Vet is a Freaking genius!

I was unhappy with the way my painting was coming out, so I asked Vet for some help. He said to pick up some stuff & we will make a disposable paint booth ... huh?

I got a 20" x 20" packaging box from office max, a 20" x 25" furnace filter from home depot, and some tape.

Vet leaned the filter in the back of the box, and taped the bottom edge so it wouldn't move ...

Then he cut a hole in the back to plug his shop vac into it ...

And then put a couple of sticks on the top to hang the parts we were gonna paint!

The thing worked great, and when you are done with it, you can just throw it away!

I did something like your paint-booth once, and then got nervous about the solvent and air going through the motor and creating a turbojet. Maybe the motor is isolated from the air-flow so that this isn't a risk. I just didn't think it through.

Since you are still among us, I must just have imagined that this could be a problem. And glad that you are.

I still remember the incredible scheme for cutting the elliptical routes out of the leading edge of something you were building by feeding the stock past a circular table saw blade at an angle - such a brilliant idea.
