I hear and concur with your frustration Jeff! Take solace in your spectacular progress to date, and it's assured completion.

Myself, I daydream about Ted Callahan's space that I intend to one day duplicate at my farm up north. That thought, keeps me going where this project is concerned.

Now you have to squeeze that plane out of there somehow!

As my Friday night entertainment, I went back and read this thread from post #1 - what a terrific story, and I learned a lot along the way. It really puts the magnificence of what Jeff has done in clear perspective.
Very inspiring for us mortals!

progress update ...

Hi All,
I thought I would post a couple of pictures before my thread drops off into oblivion!

Here are a few pictures from last month.

I had put the metal fittings on the spars, and took a trammel to the wing to make sure things are square.




Then I added the leading edge to the wing.

just the top wing at this point. the construction on my home has just restarted with a new contractor, and with in 3 weeks I can start the top wing spars.

Since I have been hobbled with the joe perkel syndrome of having no space to work, I spent some time on the aux throttles Vet has recently finished.
I gun blued the metal, and assembled them to the existing control column.
