more progress
I painted the struts of the gear grey while i kept the axle box green. I did this because the tail-number I am planning to use is Fok. 244/18. I read in WW1 AERO, #107, pg-9, that all the interplane struts and gear struts are light grey for number 240 thru 299.

Jeff,
Great pictures and an elegant solution.
I was using a bead roller with suitable dies for the flange but I like your way more.
I'll show you a seat the next time we meet. Do you want plain or lozenge linen for the seat back?
Regards,
Maxim08

Jeff,
What tempered aluminum did you use? 3003?? That's way-way soft.
I was wondering because that bend cannot be done with anything stiffer than 3003 & rubber mallet. I guess it would work fine for what you are using it for.

aluminum
Actually it was 3003. you say it's too soft? what do you suggest? I could not find anywhere in the plans to indicate what type aluminum to use.
As far as using the rubber mallet goes, I don't have a picture of it, but I did need a hammer with a wooden block to perswade it into place. with the amount of work I put into it, I didn't think it was soft!!! my arms are tired!!!!!

Jeff,
A quick referral to the Ron Sands drawings for the triplane show 2024 -T3 alloy, 1/16th" thick.
I believe that the T3 will work harden to ~T6 when folded.
