Bill tells me that the place we're going to order a new nose bearing from has new bushings in stock for the ranger... sounds like they're still producing them from what I can tell. Will get the name of the place if you'd like it?

Throttle linkage,...

Jeff, do yourself a favor on your throttle linkage, and re-inforce all of the areas you have bolts running through thin 4130 plate. you need to give the bolt more surface area to ride on so it will hold up to the constant vibration of the engine in flight. Even a washer welded to the end of the arm will provide enough surface area to keep wear to a minimum.

Looking for help with plumbing!

I have the engine manuals for the L-440 Ranger, but this modification leaves me wondering where all the fitting connect to. here are a few pictures
on the bottom, there are two fittings that I assume are now the oil scavenge ...

frome the other side ....

I think this would still be the pressure pump that feeds the oil inside the cam and crankshaft ... there is also a fiiting for what looks like an oil pressure guage ...

Ranger Plumbing continued ...

here is the top pump which used to be the scavenge pump ... I am not sure where to hook these fittings to.

other side ...

you can see how the modification allows oil to drain from the cam cover into a fitting draining into the case ... each cylinder has two fitting draing into the case, one on each side.

on the top of the scavenge pump, there are two more fittings ... these are what confuse me, are they now used as vents?

plumbing issues

Jeff,
Do you have the manual for inverting the ranger? I have a copy if you need it. I bought it a long time ago when I first got interested in a replica.

no, I haven't got it yet, I am not sure this engine was inverted using Morrell's method and I hate to spend $25 just to find out it wasn't done this way!

I worked on the floorboards today.
Here is the cutout of the floor ...

I layed out where the holes were to be drilled underneith the floor to hold the aluminum and plywood sides ...

I countersunk the holes drilled for the wood screws ...
