Albatros DIII or DV reproductions in Austria

I was reading in my latest Flying Scale Magazine (April) issue about a fellow who built a 1/4 scale Albatros DIII in the Baron's colors. He mentioned that a number of reproduction Albatros D types were being built in Austria from original drawings or plans that had been discovered. Anyone know about this effort? Is there a website for them? This is really exciting if accurate.

Two Oeffag Albatros D.IIIs

Hi,

There are others here who are much more qualified to provide this information than I am. The constructor is Koloman Mayerhofer (sp?) who has worked with some of the regular forumites here, and has posted here himself. He is building two very accurate Oeffag-Albatros D.IIIs. If I recall correctly, one is to fly and one is to remain a static aircraft. From the photos I've seen, and from Koloman's reputation, they will be superb and accurate replicas.

That is a great site -- thanks for putting it on this discussion. I had not bumped into it before.

Thanks so much for posting the photo of your DIII reproduction. I have always been interest in the Austro-Hungarian aircraft and had build a flying model of an Oeffag DIII many years ago. One of my favorite aircraft! Please keep us posted of you progress when you can--your efforts are appreciated very much.

Myself, I would really like to know where I could obtain plans and drawings.
