I think we have a misanderstanding, with the parts I have, I can not make 10.
But about this demand for 50, who need one ?

Franzkait, sorry if I misunderstood you. Once I save up a few more pennies in my piggy bank, I might need one.

this is the problem $$$ ! look how many build a plane , and how many have an engine ? to get steel tubes and plywood is one think but an engine..........
this engine converted ready to put in an aercraft is over 20 000 $. prop hub 2500 $ prop 3500 $ . If you can find one for 5000 $ , just the parts are over 5000 $. and it is not so easy to convert this engine . and some people are building 2 and moore aercraft and have not an engine ! this is reality , but maybe there are still some rangers for 1500 $

the engine conversion to have the cylinders up is 95% ready , but to get it nice in the D7 fuselage need special made engine mounts and other parts.

Franzkait,
How did you solve the oiling to the upright cylinders? None of the inverted 4-stroke aircraft engines, that I have explored, have any oil rings. Also, long stroke designs (w/upright cylinders) need some aid in getting oil up against the piston head? Some long-stroke designs that I have seen, actually point a stream of oil up to each cylinder with an oil sprayer. I'm curious & not complaining.
Jan

piston has oil rings. can you see the 2mm hole in the con rod , this hole is spraying oil inside the piston.

Where's the oil ring. I see one scraper (very bottom) and two compression (on top)? 3-rings which is very typical of inverted types.
The oil weep hole is located on the camshaft side on all engines , to throw oil on the cam. I wonder if it can put out enough stream to reach the piston head? I hope it doesn't run hot?

The bottom ring is not only one ring, 3 rings in one gruve with a spring at the back. To throw oil at the cam ? or in to the piston head ? what engines you are talking about ? maybe this cast iron boat ankers ?
