FTS Projects - a petition to bring Achim's thread back

Achim Engels thread is usually the first thing I check when I log in, even when I have a thread of my own going! His work is inspiring and because of Achim and others like him I have been gathering info on the Fokker D.VII and the S.E.5a and plan on starting a project of my own. I can understand the reasons for his departure and can't say I blame him. But I do hope he will reconsider and return. Add my name to the list.

if you leave, then you concede the high ground to acer. I respect the decision, but it sure doesn't help us here and turns your stuff into a one way conversation.

Why is everyone Boo-Hooing for heavens sake? Achim is not leaving, if anything, he's probably going to start his own forum on his own website that he has maintained over the past years. In that way, he can expand tremendously on his threads.
Just like WWIAero started their own forum, and the same Aerodrome community are posting over there too. Some posters are posting the exactly the same material at both forums.....

I find Achim's posts most informative and I too will devote more time to his website should he not return to this forum. With over 220,000 views his thread
is very popular and it will be a great loss if we are unable to persuade him to
continue.

Jumpinjan you make a good point but you have to consider that new members are far more likely to find out about Achims work here (as I did ) rather than an independant site.

It is also a good idea is it not, to have as much of the information in one dedicated place (here) as possible.Members do learn off each other.

It is also a matter of principal.Why should he feel he has to leave? I think there have been some shameful incidents here which have lead to his decision.

You have MANY fans and allies. I would prefer to read you here but I will go wherever this thread ends up. I can only dream of building something like you seem to do with ease. I have already bookmarked your site and hope to be a regular.

I'm sad that your leaving and understand why. I hope you post as often on your own web site.
In one of my deleted posts on his now closed site I made the suggestion that the person who starts the thread be given the ability to bar others from interfering and causing nothing but ill will in it from posting replies. Perhaps this be now bought in if possible.
Its off to the FTS site for me.

Add my name to the list of old men who support Achim. I wish I had 1/10th the energy, knowledge, ability and skill he has. It is Gentlemen such as Achim, who in sharing their projects with us, make this a worthwhile forum.

Sehr Beehrter Herr Achim Engels, ignore the over abundance of junior high school pissing contests and continue sharing with us. Your supporter far outnumber your detractors.
