Yes I know I made them from two parts. I do not have ready tooling for it. I think you look for details more then others.

Pavel , nothing wrong with making this hinges from 2 parts , the one made from 2 parts is original , stronger and better. And you are right ,I am looking for details more then others ! The answer is , this others do not know for what detail to look . The Foto shows a DVII 7 hinge , made from 2 parts , brazed only inside in the corners . Robw , in one case you are right , if I have a question about D VII , I go to Franzkait to ask , or do you know anybody with better knowledge ?

My hinge from two parts is strong as well, after is done will hard to recognize that hinge is from two parts. The bushing is silver brazed in hinge the ends of strip will be welded and clened so will look like one part. I think there was a 3500 planes make and three manufactures or more involved. At the end there was diferences between S/N 1 and 3500......

I totaly agree with Pavel.
From what I see his work looks great and precise so please give him a chance to show his work without saddling him up with mysterious puzzles.
I for one hope this to be a long and exciting thread. Garfield I'm happy to see you've explained what you think Pavel is doing wrong with the hinges.

Robw,
no doubt, Franzkait is the best.

OK, looks like Pavel has some fans. Any interested parties yet? Seems like a great deal for anyone wanting a quick start in getting into the air, WW1 style.
