.079" wall .... not to uncommon for engine mount tubing. All depends on the dynamic loads its going to see. Also, with the degree of (cold) forming this tube is seeing, a thinner wall tube may yield stress cracks along the radii and bend lines. This based on not knowing the alloy being used.

But I am very sure Achim knows what he is doing ....

Sure I am sure that the engine mount for the Engels E6 has 2mm wall thickness. I do not see what that question is supposed to imply.

You do not need to have the original Daimler engine mount drawing nor the original Fokker drawings.

I wonder why you do not know the historic images of the mount cut and meassured by the French. There are copies at rotary heaven.

Apart from that why donīt you just make your triplane mount with smaller wall thickness tubings? I am fine with it....

Here are some more progress shots of the mounts for the Engels E6.

Enjoy!

Achim

Some more shots of the mamking ofthe engine mount front portions. All three of them are done now and they will be completed as soon as I have managed to finally get the rear mounting "cup" pressed.

Test fitting into the frame after welding.
