I have now finished the jig for the rear part of the engine mounting frame.
This is how it looks like.
Enjoy!

The E.6 is coming right along. Your mechanical talents never cease to amaze me.
Do you have a goal for a completion date of the first one? I'm sure many others who watch here are about to bust to see the completed project.

Ok, being stubborn here.... how are the removable fairings you spoke of made? How are they made different so that they can be removed?

Axle fairing on Fok.E.V 160/18.
Gentlemen:
What I see on the axle fairing is a depression of the plywood between the ribs. What is visible is pitched too close for printed fabric polygon repeats.
What has been done to the Fok.E.V at the Caproni Museum has not been documented. At best it is only a guide. At the Fokker Flugzeugwerke the axle wings were not covered with fabric, they were painted and varnished. I agree the axle wing was not removeable, it was permenently fixed the the axle box.
Blue skies,
Dan-San

Since Achim is too polite to say so, I'll do it.
Enough already with the discussion of axle wing controversy in this thread.
Achim is building his planes based on considerable research that he has done and it is HIS BUILD THREAD.
Please, leave the thread to Achim. A new thread on Fokker axle wings could be interesting.

No no no, you are misunderstanding. I'm not trying to add to or talk about this "controversy" I am asking about the fairings that ARE removable that were mentioned. How are they made to be removable and other than that, how are they different? Were these post war? A mistake in a restoration somewhere? Someones field modification?

When to discuss the historic appearance of the Fok. E.V's and the Fok.D.VIII's with the Jasta Engels, where is the right place to post, when not here?
A separate thread for the camouflage of the wings, a separate thread for the camouflage of the axle wings, a separate thread for the Flugzeugstoff?
A lot of Fok. E.V had the axle wing covered with Flugzeugstoff, there is
photograpic evidence, nobody can neglect.
The Fok. D.VIII was not flown by any Jasta. It was a post-war aircraft.

I recall very well these faked photographs of triplanes and other planes in interesting - although funny - personal and strange Jasta markings that you made and proudly showed to me. Maybe you lead others the wrong way, but I for one do not give one daim for any photographic evidience you provide or is provided by anybody linked to you. I know how good you are in manipulating illustrations.
Here is some real stuff, shots of the current progress on the engine mount making.
This mount is for the Le Rhóne engine. For this reason the front mounting ring is slightle wider than it would be required to fit to the Oberursel or Gnóme engines.
Enjoy!

Thanks for posting Achim! Its it fro your Le Rhóne engine? If not what engine are you using on your D.VIII? Different mount or the same?
