It's a shame that you lift this secret.

All the important publishers like Osprey, Albatros Production, Arms and Armour, Schiffer, Flying Machine Press etc. are now in trouble. And the museums like USAF, NASM, DTM... my god Achim, what have you done?

ZAK

PS I visit you only once, on 23.7.1995. It was this wonderful time before I own a computer and "photoshop" was a lab around the corner for Ektachrome developing of my studio work. How were these fakes done, you have seen?

Mann Fred, you know best how these fakes have been done! You are an artist and I really admire you for this skill. They looked really nice!

There is no need to push it on Photoshop now. You do not need photoshop and montages are known long before any computer was invented. It is part of art photography ever since. So the "photoshop around the corner" probably just was your basement?

It is not Osprey and all others you so proudfully work for who are in trouble now. It is fine if they work with your stuff. I for one know who you are and what you do, so please just don´t tell me how you will cover your Fokker D.VIII reproduction undercarriage wing fairing.

I will cover mine in any way I want to. It is not a Fokker D.VIII. It is a Engels E6. This is how it will be listed in the German aircraft roll.

And if I want to do that, I will even paint them pink. The whole Jasta Engels!!! It is my thing, not your´s. I am the one who is doing it. Not you!

I still recall very well that one and only meeting we had and how proud you have been about your studio work of these brilliantly faked images. And you should be proud of them! It really was art! And I am sure you improoved your skills since then enormously! Let alone imagine how you made these wonderfull looking old paper at that time.....

Remember me and my wife and my good buddy Wolfgang sitting at the table when you enjoyed our hospitality? (it may well have been 27.07.1995 - I am not sure, I do not write down the dates. Your visit was not that important to me. in the end it is the man who makes the impression not the date). I do! Yes I do. It was a nice evening. It is always nice to run accross new people. Most turn out to be friends, only a very few out themselves as what you are.

I have had my fill of you! And all others will either see that as well or they may continue to court for your "friendship" just to get hold of your very fine studio work. They may publish them a thousand times. Let them just lurk for any new unpublished photograph that you have "unearthed".

The point is: since that time I know that it is difficult to see what is truth and what is fake that comes from your side. How is the ratio? 50/50. It doesn´t matter it sells anyway.

I am not sure how many fakes made by you are circling around out there, but it doesn´t realy matter. Do you know why? I am not in the business of colours. You never got that. I do not even have any intrest in your field of work.

Sorry folks, I know I let my self go here. I will calm down again, but sometimes things just have to be said.

I just hope you find all that stuff as amusing as Manfred does. I am sure he is sitting at his computer now and is happy (isn´t it a wonderfull time as well - with a computer?). Probably he thinks I sit here typing all this in anger. Honestly, I am not. I am enjoying a movie right now and at present there is a advertisement breake. As you can see I have other things to do than watching comercials....

Manfred: Do yourself a favour and stop this here. You have done enough harm to yourself already, no matter if you hide behind the pseudonym of "Acer" or "ZAK". You will not succeed in the promise you once gave me on the phone. I already have a terrible reputation! Copycat - Out!

All others: Enjoy!

Cheers!

Achim.

P.S. I wonder where this posting will lead to.

Your story of faked photographs is phantastic, but you are underrating the first class researchers around the world.

It is not my story! It was your´s!

You are slippery as a snake! Aren´t you? Pretty talented in seeding distrust and confusion! You should have become a polititian! Saying nothing all the time must be learned. Do you really like yourself that way? I would be disgusted when looking in the mirror if I was you.

So you are saying you faked faking? What was the point in that in 1995? Probably it is not me who is underastimating the world´s finest researchers, but it is you who is pretending not to be that good in faking. Or was it you faked these images to see whether I will reccognize them as fakes or not? If so, I wonder why you told me in the end it was your work.

Wait a minute, slowly the pieces of your obscure mind fall into place.........I really hope you continue. I start to figgure out something. Hold...Stop! No, I was wrong. I am just getting confused.

In fact I do not underestimate anybody. I am fine if they use your work, didn´t you read that? I will not - for the reasons mentioned above - use any of your unearthed "new" photographs. You are too much of an artist for me. I am not trying to damage your reputation. It is too big for me.

So what should my point be? All I want is that you take your printed Flugzeugstoff undercarriage fairing D.VIII shots to others. If they want to use them for a source it´s O.K. with me. It sure also looks nice as well And I am sure you can feel fine in case anybody ever will cover his D.VIII reproduction undercarriage wing fairing with "Flugzeugstoff" as you suggest. Must feel fine as long as you are not able to build anything on your own.

This man will not.

Cheers!

Achim

zak,
This thread is about Achim's aircraft construction, and a bit about his family. You are free to start your own thread. Or to take it elsewhere.

Oh for Christ's sake!

I live (and work) way out in the counry; the "Boondocks" as we say in America. There is no DSL available out here and the maximum download speed by modem is only 26000 bps. This means that I sometimes have to wait several minutes for a page of the forum to load. This is one of the reasons why I don't post more or more often -- because it takes ages. Imagine how irritating it is to sit and wait for the page to load, anticipating more of Achim's great work, only to find an entire page taken up by "Zak" and his bullshit. I am so SICK of this crap. Where are the moderators? Enough is enough. As Robert Heinlein said, "a reverence for life does not mean we have to respect nature's obvious mistakes." How much longer will the forum be lumbered with this talking vegetable? A lifetime ban would certainly seem to be in order, or perhaps the moderators could start monitoring the posts a little more closely and delete this moron's posts before he starts the ball rolling again? Why in the name of my uncle's testicles (as Stachel might say) are we putting up with this? For Christ's sake....
