And one more thing here.

I have spoken to Wulffo and know know what happened.

There appear to be people out there who talk bad about Wulffo and spread bad things around. These guys are obviously jealous about his talent to find old aviation stuff and to obtain it in trade or at a bargain.

Well, go out there and the get that stuff yourself.....

I can well understand now why he decided to quitt his participation here in the Forum discussions.

Let me tell you that I have always made good experience with Wulffo. He is a most honest man and always talks straight.

Without his in"wulffo"ment this exciting project of a Fokker reproduction Fokker D.VII powered by a original Daimler D.III engine would have never come to exist.

One or multiple layers are sandwhiched in between the multitool jig.

The laminations of Wulffo´s propeller are now all glued together.

The following images illusrate his airscrew as ugly as canm be in this stage along with a smaller airscrew for an Oberursel Ur.II rotary engine.

The very first box rib is completed. I am not yet satisfied with the result, but have now figgured out how to get things done best.

Now that this test rib is completed I will start to finish up Wulffo´s airscrew tomorow of whichj the layers now glued.

After this I will return to the wing rib making and put together the ribs of the lower wings first.

Hello Achim,

I have been wondering if early D.VII wings used a different cap strip to latter built examples but possibly I am getting confused between Fokker built aircraft and those that were built by other companies.

The original Fokker wing rib drawings show them to be built the way you are doing it but the Flight magazine artical, "The Fokker D.VII, A Technical Evaluation" shows a different style that has a similar nose section to the Fokker Dr.I. I think this aircraft was Fokker built. The D.VII was brought down on the 6th of June 1918 by a British SE5a and was allocated the designation G/2B/14, its werk number was 2455, possibly Fok.368/18. The D.VIIs spars were marked with "Gebr. Perzius, Flugzeug Abteilung" D-VII FI. No.1450 and bore the date 24/IV/18.
