Additionally, I do color / photo enhancement in an inexpensive application called Roxio Photo Suite. Roxio PhotoSuite 8 - Photo Editing - Overview When I grow up,... I want the full version of Adobe Photoshop as it's the software of choice for Deep Space Photography, (another little interest). In the meantime, Roxio does the job quite nicely!

Thanks again.
Joe,
Have you looked at this software: ADS - Aircraft Design Software

They have a version for homebuilders... It looked interesting to me and I was considering it for myself, but wanted to get some feedback from someone else.

What do you think?

Joe;
Just sent you seven different 1200dpi res images (blown up from negatives I no longer have) of Baby tail floats. Sent it to email address at your website. You may have all of them, but I hope you can find a detail or two, of use to you.

Joe,
A brief flashback reminded me that WW1 Aero #155 had an article about a Baby project that was well underway. At that time (circa '98-99) wings were complete. Never heard any more about this aeroplane. You may want to look into this. Who knows, there may be some good bits available or a hidden away complete a/c.
Regards,
John

Rob,

I'd keep an eye on this for awhile before committing, I'll tell you why....

My first impression was, "OK some nice aircraft design specific features here" For an under $500 addition to the "tool" box OK maybe but, then I see this annual 20%,... what they call a "maintenance" fee. That's not quite buying customer loyalty more like forcing it. A quick check of the web-site owner and I see it is a French concern.

Look for a software company that encourages outside vendors to write "plug ins" for their software. Thats the mark of software that has tremendous support both in upgrades and otherwise. Rhino is one of these but not aviation specific.

The thing with CAD is to pick an application and then stick with it.

John,

I suppose any number of things can kill a project like this, Illness, divorce, sudden job loss (been there), loss of interest. I would love to see what was done.

I will look for that article thank you!

Joe,

Sent you an email

Willesden Canvas?

Does anyone know what Willesden canvas is? And what might be the significance of the specification?

Koloman,

Thank you for that reference, I have been previously referred to it (courtesy BaldEagle, I believe).

I did send the association an email but, received no response. Perhaps it went to junk mail, I will attempt once again, I would like to contact them!

Thanks again!

Nice article Rob....thank you!

I find it interesting to see the old rating (carpenter / joiner) in the RNAS. Makes sense and I bet our Navy had the same. I don't remember any such rating in our Navy when I was there but, they do still have Bosun's Mate, and always will.

Thanks again!
