There seems to be six ranger engines available for sale.

Thanks for the input Chris.
My pleasure.
As I mentioned in the PM, I cannot vouch for the veracity of the listing or whether the items are serviceable or not, I just thought it might be useful to someone.

Homemade Bending Break

Hi All,
I got this neat bending break off the biplane forum. A guy named Dave Clay there posted it for the homebuilders there in a .pdf format. I had converted it to jpg so I could post it all for you guys.

I wish I had this when I was making my landing gear axle box, but it will still be handy for a few of the bends on my engine cowls. For those who have yet to bend some sheet metal, this should do the trick nicely!

My suggestion is to copy these pages and print them out. For this purpose, I will post these pictures Extra Large.

Here is a site where you can rent "How to" videos. Lot's of different catagories including aircraft. There is a aircraft welding video in the metal working section that may be helpful. It is a rental deal similar to Netflix.

"Brand New" 1940 12 Cylinder Allison engine anyone?

According to the owner, this engine was only run once- on the dyno in 1940. It was crated up and sent overseas as a spare for a P-51 Mustang or a P-38 Lightning, but was never used. It was returned to the surplus yard, and the current owner bought it in '47. The motor still sets on the original wooden stand it was bolted to 60 years ago. Made mostly of magnesium and aluminum, it's is amazingly light. He will only consider selling it for a warbird restoration...

If you know of anyone who is interested, please let me know.

Jim

Jeff, you gotta get this for your Fokker! Vertical takeoffs and hovering, you will feel right at home! Top speed, 400mph? COOL!!!

Thank You

Jeff, et. all,

Thank you very much for this Thread. For those of us who have a dream, some knowledge, a whole lot of passion, but no ability to manufacture - this is what we need. A place to find where to get it. Thank you again.
