Let us not be too quick at this. A few pictures of children, particularly of the children of the thread initiator lend a bit of human interest. But of course, we all have pictures we'd love to post. So lets just move on and let the existing pictures be. Now back to the topic at hand....

Hi franzkait,

We miss you and your helper!
I figure you are both out flying your hand made machines gently breaking in these fine engines by now.

I look forward to your progress, Jay

Mercedes or BMW?

Udo,

I've been corresponding with Peter Gorman about building a Fokker D.VII replica and he suggested you might be thinking of building a Mercedes engine for such an aircraft. Any plans?

Heres one I prepared earlier.

Go and look at the Vintage Aviator website. Nice new one bursting into life there. Looks like those guys have nailed it.

Also some info on the Mercedes overhaul there as well.

I would post links but as I havn't posted 10 times yet, I can't.

Paul,

Thanks. I'll take a look. I have a Ranger but after talking with Peter I would consider using a replica Mercedes or BMW engine for my D.VII.

Darrel , to get a Mercedes , all you need is money .
Paul , I am not surprised , that some people like CNC made WW1 parts .
