Albatros D.III and D.Va Plans
I created this thread to focus on sources of Albatros D.III/D.Va Plans.
The Albatros Planes In my opinion are the best looking and most balanced planes in WWI.
So Sources of Albatros Plans, Drawings, Kits, For sale ads are welcome.
But let us keep it to the Full Scale, 100% Department.

The lines of the Nieuport 28 appeals to the artist in me and the Camel to my aviators side.

Hi Russ,
It's the Albatros D.V/D.Va for me. They remind of a sleek and powerful sports sedan that still has a pleasant ride, while the Fokker Dr.I is the little sports coupe that can really cut the corners!

Dva
yes, the albatros always struck me as a big touring car with guns. It really is a big machine when you are standing next to it. I can see why pilot reports mention it being a cold plane to fly in. Theres plenty of room for air to move around and into it.
The se5a would be a very cosy ride in comparison. I do like the Se5a.
I was given a set of replicraft plans for that too...
List of things to do:
1. finish albatros
2. toss a coin (to decide if I build an Se5a or a Honnoverana next.)
3. draft up the divorce papers. (I dont know if the wife would put up with 2 planes, Just so long as I keep my pet bird, the couch and my tools...)

I Like the D.III more than the D.Va (I dont know why). It looks more muscular because of its flat bottom, Its also more compact.

sheppo,
Go for the Hannover. You can convince your wife that you need a two-seater so that she can fly with you. You might even get her involved with building it.

Russ,
Chris has it right in my opinion, the DVa is a gorgeous, sculpted machine.
I would like to see some other members give input on plans. as that is my current interest. I have some of the Waugh plans, but I would like to see what else is out there.
Phil

For me the Spad VII fits.
(rugged, capable, and an original)

S.E.5a and Ltn. Rudolf Stark.
RussDet:
I like the S.E.5a, for its aggressive Hawk like appearance. I like Ltn. Rudolf Stark's description in his book "Wings of War".
For pure composition of line and form, the Pfalz D.IIIa and the Nieuport 28c1 would be very hard to beat, they are truly beautiful aircraft. Their designers were artists of the first magnitude.
Blue skies,
Dan-San
