"Gauge".....Etc.

The tank is now shown complete .....The parts of the gauge (which I can't find photo of right now )...consist of a hardish rubber washer and brass threaded flange on which it sits , at the top end ...This is adjustable up and down to tighten on and seal on the glass tube.......The afforsaid glass tube (from memory) 13mm O.D. X 2.5mm wall...arround 6"long......At the other end is a conical rubber sealing washer which fits snugly within a brass housing ....These parts are kept seperately , to prevent accidental breakage of the glass tube.......This all fits in the "alcove" formed in the side of the tank , which has (all riveted & soldered in place ) Top and bottom bronze flange fittings , between a cut away brass spacer / backing tube , against which the level of petrol may be seen..........At the front Top (shown at bottom) , is the overflow , which connects to a copper tube which passes to the leading edge , up and over the top surface of the centre plane , to the trailing edge (where it would discharge as & when )..........At the rear of the tank bottom face (show uppermost here ), is the combined Inlet and Outlet delivery union.....This accepts the standard 1/2" bore (with bronze spiral spring joiners ) rubber petrol hose....(Hose fitted by assembly contractor )....The actual union , which I made to my AGS drawings in bronze incorporates a finger housing for the copper gauze filter/strainer.......
