Hellow ( Drrivah) Pete , These are " Avdel " clamps , They have probably been in use for "ever " over here , but the last ones I purchased I think were in the 60 's , I dont know if they are still made as this style . The current type are neater and look a little like a threaded " cleggo" type.
These new ones are colour coded for size , with a plastic base . The earlier all metal ones are particularly useful for holding parts near where I am soldering , ie " Tanks " , because , unlike the plastic ones , They do not melt !
Regards John

Greetings John,

I can only be completely amazed by the level of craftsmanship you have put into this replica, You deserve far more recognition than the RAF museum is granting you. Thanks for the time you spent posting these images. Thank you more for this labor of love.

This plane holds a high place in my list of favorite WWI aircraft, I "build" flight simulator aircraft and have a virtual FE2b that I'm about 1/3rds into the basic structure. I would like to ask your kind permission to use these photos as reference for the interior and engine details if I could.

If it wouldn't be asking too much, do you have a photo that is more of a pilot's view angle of the cockpit and control panels?

As they say in your part of the world, I'm completely gobsmacked, thanks again for this thread, I've been directing friends from a RC Scale modelling forum to this jewel.

Cheers,

Lewis
