Well I'll wait for the images as you post them, thanks.
I'd love to send you some of the planes I've already made, although Targetware's Richthofen's Skies is no longer in development, It's the sim I'm building these planes for. I was also working on an offline pre WWI training sim module adjunct to RS, covering most of Southern England and Northern France. I have a few old-timers made.
Targetware is actually available for free, for the basic download and mods to fly offline and online in version 0.64.
Cheers
Lewis

Construction Details
The mechanical air pump is driven by a dural' propellor , being placed within the airstream ; It is mounted under the " nacelle " and hangs down from it on a frame made from streamlined steel tube .
The main body of the pump (a compressor ) is a bronze casting , with Ni chrome steel forward extension shaft which carries sets of ball bearings in runways at either end ..On these , the Ni CH steel crank runs ...All these parts are machined mainly on the lathe useing three or four jaw chucks as appropriate . (to save costs at RAFM request * , piston and rod are ommited )
The compressed air that would be produced *is delivered to the petrol tants via selectors on the dash board , for onward transit to the motor..(See "fuel/petrol system explained , earlier on this thread ) .
The whole pump is contained within a streamlined caseing of 24swg alluminium. The assembly consists of front and rear sections , these being bolted to the pump body casting lugs at the lower end , and at the top end , the delivery union locks the two parts together , Along the joint of the streamlined section part , the edges are kept tightly together ,front to back , by alternate tabs from each side, thus keeping the edges firm .
The lower portions are spun components , while the upper is hand constructed , the parts being riveted together with 1/16" dia rivets .
The propellor is of 10swg (.128") dural and is tapered down to 1/16" at the tips , before being twisted for the correct pitch .
The pump should produce at least 3 to 5 Lbs/sq in preasure I believe , which is reduced down to the opperating 2.5Lb/sqin. opperating preasure by adjusting the air releif valve on the dash board (see later )...
