Anderson Arch.

The arch fits just behind the gunner/ observer/ bomb aimer , and is attached to the gunners floor by 4 No 10 wood screws at the base , and is additionaly clamped back to the frame cross member ,on either side , just below the start of the rad,. by the two "U" bolt /spruce saddle spacerblocks etc . previously shown .
Held between the upper location socket, (which also holds the short vertical tube ),and the bronze top clamp bracket ,..The " Swan Neck" assembly may be adjusted (usually by Gunner ) verticaly and clamped in the deired radial position .
In certain chosen positions , this assembly , which mounts a Lewis MG is accesable for use by either the pilot or the gunner .
This rear MG ,( when fitted ),has its clamp fitted with a socket , which fits into the coresponding top of the removable hand-hold-grip/swivel mount , this being removed by opperation of the spring loaded press-in thumb latch .
At the base of the Swan -Neck is a spring loaded release catch for use when this part is at "Full Extension " when the gunner is firing the MG , back , over the top wing .

All parts are MS, the main bent tubing ( RAF spec 16b ) being 1 1/2"x20swg(.036),and 18swg(.048) for the short bit . (A couple of bits within the latches are hardened carbon steel ). The Swan neck tube is 17swg (.056").

Don't know how 'adjusted' it was but I did like the bit about you making the metal parts before the wooden parts, which to the RAFM staff from a non-engineering background made it seem as if little was being done
