We apologize for the continuing problems with the aeroforum. Since the forum doesn't belong to the board, we've had to endure the same frustrations as everyone else who tried to post or sign up. I tried to join the aeroforum the last time it was up with no success. Since the board doesn't control or pay for the forum, we have no way to fix these problems as a group, and since this has been an ongoing problem with no improvement, the board may have to take action to separate WW1 Aero, Inc. from the aeroforum site very soon.

We also apologize for the lack of updates on the site. I have been informed that the next issue of Skyways is coming along very nicely, and we're also working feverishly to get our online store up ASAP. Our goal is to eventually have our entire catalog of back issues available online, and we seem to have conquered a major hurdle that was holding us back just a few days ago. The gears are turning. More updates will be forthcoming.

Ditto jon 18
I also tried to register again yesterday , and I also sent a message to the webmaster asking him to join me , but no responce so far ...
I have been trying to join , on and off for the last year ,..Same result . Always going round in circles . There is still an ongoing problem with the image verifier, not working ..Most frustrating ...Hope it will be sorted soon .

It seems that a lot of people still do think that this forum is an extention of WWI Aero ....Especially since all the talk of going digital ...JM

I, too, gave up on WW-I Aero, in large part because the group seemed completely unresponsive on a personal level. Is that changing?

Magazine was subscribed without a hitch, including a renewal. But when I tried to joint the forum, I received a message that said my address was blocked. Trying to use the contact link, I could never get a reply of any kind, much less one to expalin what the problem might be.

I find it hard to imagine that hughes.net is a dangerous ISP, nor my personal addresses are a risk, as no one else has had a problem with them. To this day I cannot get on to the forum, so I have dispassionately dissociated. (That means I am not angry, just not going to spend any more time).

If one of the leadership that can effect forum access change wishes to contact me, contact my office e-mail or phone. I am requesting no appologies, no excuses, just action, please. This is not meant to be impolite; ~14 months is past the polite stage. Pragmatism is in order, I think.

Those not familiar with this means of listing an e-mail, it is not to be difficult - it is meant to protect it from spiders and phishing.

Thanks for the recommended way to send email addresses. I sort of know what phishing is and it seems a clever way to protect addresses/identities.

Official Statement From WW1 Aeroplanes, Inc.

World War I Aeroplanes, Inc. has elected to disassociate the Organization from the web forum Aeroforum.org. As of this announcement there is no longer an official tie between Aeroforum.org and World War I Aeroplanes, Inc. All official announcements regarding the organization will be found on World War I Aeroplanes, Inc.'s official web site, World War 1 Aeroplanes, Inc.-Home of WW1 AERO & SKYWAYS.

The organization extends its thanks to Carroll Gray for establishing this forum, and for the service it has performed. Throughout its existence Aeroforum.org has been paid for and maintained through Mr. Gray's generosity. Mr. Gray is welcome to continue Aeroforum.org as an independent activity. Aeroforum.org has hosted a good deal of high quality content, and it is hoped that it will continue and grow in its service to enthusiasts of historic aviation.

OK, so now Aeroforums and WW-1 Aero are not connected any more. I guess I can deal with that (not like we have much choice). Both were great, but both seem to have had more than their share of problems.
Carroll, you have done a great job in the past. What can we do to help you move forward for the future? I have NO PROBLEM supporting The Aerodrome Forum, WW-1 Aero, Skyways and Aeroforum. Just let us know what you need to help.
Hank

That goes for ALL the organizations. A lot of us will help if someone will just point us in the right direction.

Since complaints come so quickly (I know, and have done the same) so should thanks, well-dones and positives. Wanted everyone to know that I got immediate responses from Tom and Sean regarding the questions I raised. I mean within 30 minutes Tom had written, and by morning, so had Sean.

They are clearly working to move things in the right direction, and should be congratulated.

Best Regards,

Glenn
