I to was on it a couple of days ago and it was work fine for me.

This is what I get when I tried now:
"The AEROFORUM, which was attacked during October 2009, is undergoing repair and maintenance,
and will be available when not being worked on. We hope to have it updated and fully back online by late November 2009.
Thank you for your patience."

I hope it will return soon.

I don't think that's going to happen and I know there are some members that have left the Aerodrome to go to the Aeroforum because of the things that goes on here and don't what to come back because of it.

Actually those that you speak of still come here to read posts, just no longer post themselves. So it is still a viable idea, as a way to keep the membership informed, and exchange idea's. Also one can PM a board member if they do not wish to post here.

But it is not up to me, or you, just another idea for the leadership to ponder.

this thread and other threads you title with the words
"Aero Forum" or "WW1 Aero" within it already serve that purpose. however, you might PM Scott directly if you think you need more. and/or maybe the aeroforum's wrinkles will get ironed out and site restored soon.

Thumbs down the secret nut...

for what it's worth, i am a patient man-- five living, reasonably-well-adjusted adult children attest to that.
airplanes have been a critical part of my life, since at the latest my third year;
aviation history has been an avocation for four decades or so;
i have given up all my bad habits-- smoking, redheads, and single-malt scotch whisky [not necessarily in that order];
one of my few, very few, remaining weaknesses is completely enjoying, vicariously, a few dedicated and unusually talented men carefully building replicas of airplanes i knew by name when i was eight;
and i knew and know these machines were deadly, beautiful, elegantly simple and wonderfully agile. they were built and flown by men forged in horrible wartime.
so...
why...?
why in the name of tony would anyone attack aeroforum last month?
can anyone explain that?
i've read the sad threads that chronicle old bad blood driving some people to unreasoned, unreasoning attacks and vitriol and very personal aspersions--
why?
from what motive?
to what possible end?
if you are that person that caused the aeroforum to go down--
[and i expect you to be watching this discomfort with considerable secret glee, like arsonists secretly watch firefighters fight their arson]
please stop your senseless attacks. just stop.

i've tried to avoid as many crazy people as i could in my life, and mostly succeeded. sadly and obviously one found me on aeroforum. i live in hope the site will be back soon, and deserved karma will visit the nut where he lives.

said my piece.
feel better.
still missing FTS posts on aeroforum.

Just one small point about the payment for PDF downloadable copies. For non-US customers (like the Netherlands) it is somewhat strange to ask for a state, as there are no states in most countries (sure not in the Netherlands).

Even if one gives the name of a province of the Netherlands the whole payment is given an error. I do not trust that I have to fill in one of the US states to come through the programmed controls ?
We're still working on this issue with our online store, and I will continue to be in touch with our service provider until this issue is solved. I'll post an update as soon as I hear anything.

The Aeroforum is down again. Last time I visited was Dec. 23 and it was working fine. I hope Carroll Gray will keep it going.

the dirty, lowdown, worthless, scum-sucking, sub-human son-of-a-pig that hacked aeroforum has done it again. left his calling card this time [see below]. it is with the greatest difficulty that i refrain from commenting on the perennial 'cause' espoused by these animals... and i know, i shouldn't post while angry, but i swear i've had it up to HERE with these unwarranted intrusions by insanely hateful foreign animals.
let's see... what can i do...
