Dave, Joe,

thank you for the kind words,

We cannot lay claim to the wood work or the basic fuselage structure. These items were completed by a gentleman who was a carpenter by trade, and his woodwork was exquisite. His welding is very nice as well.

We have added some things and changed some things to accomodate our preferences such as replacing the streamlined steel tubing struts with wood struts, reverting back to a more correct Sopwith control system for Elevator and rudder and installng the original "style" steerable tailskid as opposed to the Tailwheel system the airplane was previously set up for. Now of course the Rudder bar is steel tube instead of wood, but hey it won't be too visible! LOL

At any rate enjoy!

Beautiful aircraft!
What were you planning on using for wheels and tires?

We haven't crossed that bridge yet.

We have quite a few wheels collected over the years in inventory so we'll have to do some thinking on which ones to use.

Did you find any discrepancies between the Spar sections and airfoil section between the cap-strips as drawn by Sopwith? Did this fit without modification?

Looking quite spiffy!

Joe,
thanks for the compliment!
The wings were built when we purchased the airplane, I will say the rear spar section is very peculiar and has caused me untold grief when re-designing the centersection mounting sockets to adapt to the method this particular builder had used. The rear spar sits in the airfoil at an exaggerated forward angle to match up to the ribs. This is per the drawings we have. I am not sure why Sopwith chose this over a simpler vertical type.

When they can be found, how much are LeRhones?

Thanks.

A Gnome 160 Hp sold recently for $26,300. Finding them is the trick. Search the forum for LeRhone, Gnome, or Rotary... and you'll see the lengths folks are going through to find one.
