Hey Jasta,

Nice photos!

I saw somebody taking pictures of the Triplane and didn't think to introduce myself.

It was a great show today. I'll be posting a few photos this weekend too.

Regards,

Hi Guys,
For the guys that attended the Flying Circus, Thank you. We can use all the support we can get.

With the show behind us and almost the whole fleet airworthy I have started back on the Fokker. The fuel tank was finished a few weeks ago and pressure tested fine. Today I made the mounting clamps and installed the tank. As you see in the pictures the tank has some warping to it. It is very square as it fits in the mounting clamps. The hardest part was welding in the bulkhead between the oil tank and the fuel tank. I did Pro Seal the fuel tank side of the bulkhead before closing the tank just for added insurance. The Tig welder sure makes welding aluminum easy. The material is .050" 5052. I am pretty happy with it for my first aluminum welded fuel tank. The next Tig project is the fuel tank for the Sopwith Pup.

I did start the cockpit sheet metal as well. Pictured is the left side.
More soon.
Paul

The triplane looks great so far. At the show, I was struck at how small the Fokker and Sopwith are, especially when compared to the Jenny.

Do you have engines lined up for the two?

We have an 80 LeRhone for the Dr.I and we are using a Lycoming O-320 for Pup. The Pup will be flown by many people and the Lycoming will be the most reliable and it fit into the budget!

It was a busy weekend at the museum but I managed to get a few little things done. The fuel shut off valve was installed and actuator rod was built. With the addition of the throttle on the side wall it was difficult to route the fuel shut off rod exactly like the originals. A castor oil shut off was added as well. I don't believe the originals had an oil shut off but I added one on the right side. The lever on the right in the originals was the auxillary throttle. Again with the throttle on the left side wall an aux throttle was not not needed so I made the aux thottle lever the oil shut off. Sorry for the bad photos.
