In case you don't know... printed lozenge fabric is already available.

Work is continuing at a fast pace now on the wings, there has been a bit of a hold up in recent months due to extreme cold weather in Vienna. The control system and spar attachment brackets have now been fitted for the final time and cladding is progressing at a fast rate.

Thanks to the use of CAD and accurate building the skin is going on very nicely without the need for adjustment.

Hello Langdon,

Wow! Great images.

I am full of envy. Koloman did a perfect job on these wings. I am an absolute admirer of his skills and work.

We have pretty cold weather here as well. I hope it will start to get warmer soon so that I can start to continue working on the D.VII wing spars and put these wings together. Al the ribs for the four planes are done and await their installment....

Absolute lovely work. Thanks for sharing these images with us.

Cheers!

Achim

Langdon,
How thick are the plywood skins on the wing?

baldeagle,

The original layout drawing lists 1 mm to 1.2 mm, we used the latter.

Achim,

Thanks for your kind words, I know Koloman looks in on this from time to time and will appreciate what you have said. The scary time is approaching when we have to paint the beast.

By the way all of the late built Fokker aircraft had the wings identified by stencilled numbers, on the Dr.I the top wing has Dr.I ??? Fl No. ???? stencilled in black on the forward, centre underside, the D.VII would have the same and the D.VIII also has this in white paint. Does anyone know if the D.VII has identical information to the Dr.I as this will help confirm the stencil for the D.VIII?
