Actually, I'm thinking of calling the insurance company up and asking for a liability insurance policy that covers everything outside of the aircraft (I carry my own health and life insurance, and at 12K the plane itself really isn't worth the premiums).

That way if I taxi into a Cessna I wouldn't have to pay for it.

Just want to share a little sad news from our family. We are heading to Jacksonville, FL this afternoon for the funeral of my uncle.

The reason I bring that up here is that while not a member of the "Greatest Generation" of the WW II era, he was an Air Force veteran from the 50's. In fact he was tail gunner in a B-36. Yes, "6 turnin and 4 burnin". He use to share stories of his activities and even made me a DVD from old 8mm movies he had taken of and from the aircraft.

After he left the Air Force, he worked as a radar technician for the FAA. His last assignment was Jacksonville Center.

I have booked my dad and I airline tickets to Kansas City to attend the Gardner, KS Fly in Fathers Day weekend.

Can anyone point out places to stay, schedules, etc.

I generally stay at the Super 8 right at the Gardner exit on 35.

Kansas City is a pain to navigate, especially in that part of town- I35 is "limited access," not many exits and no "access road." You're basically on "surface streets," i.e. regular city streets (that often snake around instead of following the major roads, sometimes dead-end, etc.) or the highway if you are further north from Garder/Olathe area, so I don't suggest hotels further north- getting on and off the highway is annoying.

And generally the Super 8 gives a special rate for fly-in attendees. (They have in the past at least.)
