Twilight Zone: The Last Flight

Never knew that No. 56 Squadron flew Nieuport 28s!

Fun to see it again, though.

Technically, Barrett, it's not a true Nieuport 28, but rather Frank Tallman's Garland-Lincoln LF-1:

This was a modified "reproduction" sort-of Nieuport with a powerful radial engine, and shorter fuselage and wings. It was used for a lot of displays and TV shows in the 1960's, including "Get Smart." Tallman crashed it during the filming of "The Great Waldo Pepper," but he sold it and it still exists. I'm unsure about its current state, it was being rebuilt.

And, 56 Squadron never used one of these, either!

I remember watching this with my grandfather! I re-watched it just a couple months ago, too. Fun to be sure, though Decker's must have some prophetic powers, knowing Guynemer would disappear 6 months after he did.

I just saw it a few weeks ago. In the closed captioning I have to use, Guynemer came out as "Guy Niemeyer" !

Had to LOL at the identification document showing "56th" Squadron.
