Where did Ponticelli's plane crash?

Hi I'm new here and with a burning question about Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines. I can't think of anywhere better to ask it!
Here goes...
My four year old boy wants to know what happened to Emilio Ponticelli's stricken plane, after it caught fire over Paris, and Ponticelli was rescued in mid-air by Orville Newton on his "Curtis", really a Bristol Boxkite.
Any pleasant, amusing, creative, or even fully informed answers very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
RM
