Be careful about putting decals over a non-glossy surface. Sometimes, even with the most judicious use of Micro-Sol or Set or Solva-Set or whatever, the decal will not adhere tightly to the surface of a non-glossy surface. Microscopic bits of air may be trapped below the decal which leads to a silver looking effect on the decal. It's almost impossible to correct. Better do what one of the previous posts recommended.............apply to a glossy surface and then coat with dull-cote.

I have worked with all types of Lozenge Decals. I could list their short comings and their mismatched colors. Being a student of Dan San Abbott and studing his notations and looking at the Lafayette Foundation samples. I believe that Eagle Strike has gotten it very close in both 4 & 5 colour. Their solid colour rib tapes are still too wide. Use the 1/72 rib tapes on the 1/48 scale kits. Also remember. The rib tape was one colour type. If they took 5 colur upper surface material it was used in one piece around the entire wing rib upper and lower surface. Yes, Virginia this means that on the under surface you would see the dark 5 colour upper surface material rib tape. I have seen many good examples of this. It would not make sense to cut strips of upper and lower surface material and sew them together at their endes so the strips would match their backgrounds not in a factory attempting to meet production deadlines.
