Flying boats books?

Gentleman,

Hope the new year brings good things to all of us. Can anyone suggest where I might find books on flying boats of WW1? Are there any that show scale 3-view and color drawings? I have the French Aircraft of the first World War which covers a few French FB's. Thanks for your consideration.

Hi,

Royal Naval Air Service 1912-1918 by Brad King and published by Hikoki 1997, mostly photo's and color drawings.
The Royal Naval Air Service by Treadwell and Wood, published by Tempus 1999 is a good photobooklet.
The Windsock Data Files.
Other on the German side with color drawings and 3 side views, I would say none.
Good photobook was also Imrie's German Naval Air Service.

Best from Johan

Flying Boats

There is still Harleyford's "Marine Aircraft of the 1914-1918 War". You may find it on e-Bay or through specialist aviation bookshops. This is a good book.

The last two "Cross & Cockade International" Journals have a long article on Killingholme and the USN patrols fom there. Part two has colour Profiles of Curtiss and Felixstowe 'boats.

For Greman marine aircraft - the "Atlas" is still the best source.
