Besides Nungesser and that ladies man Rock in 'Darling Lillie', who are some other pilots claiming impressive victory numbers with the opposite sex? OOC and DD were probably the finest sort of victories in this endeavor, eh what? And damn those who are too gentlemanly to have discussed it. How can we put together an accurate list without their cooperation? :>}

From what I understand,Boelcke was quite the ladies man.And no doubt that MvR had any choice,
from what I have read,his fan mail also included
proposals of marrage.

Ah, sex. Don't know of any way to get such info post-facto. The reality is, there's no telling from appearances. Guys who look the part, worse, who talk the great lover, are frequently flashes in the pan, while the quiet guys are the lady killers with an impressive roster. Fiction is usually better than fact.

As for "Darling Lily", as I remember the flick (other than mini-SE5's in livid paint schemes)Rock was a one woman guy in the story (course it was Julie Andrews) and the great seduction scene was one of hilarious frustration.

As for bedroom conquests, ask Barrett about Ursala, the medal collector.

cheers, Boom

Boom, that's not fair! We're supposed to keep the towel, er, wraps on "Duel Over Douai" until we spring it on an unsuspecting literary world! Besides, what about Leftenant Woodul-Powell's many triumphs in la belle france as well as jolly olde? Hmmm...reminds me of that line in TMM&TFM: J-P Cassel ravages Sara Miles (good work if you can get it) then apologizes, "The entente cordiale."
Robert Morley sneers, "Much too entente and far too cordiale....that's the trouble with these international affairs. They attract so many foreigners."
As for romantic victory claims--we immediately get to the same problem w/air combat, i.e., confirmation! However, apparently Guynemer did OK and then some. According to one of the OTF attendees this year, that vacant 1000-yard stare when the general pins another gong on G's already crowded chest wasn't combat fatigue, but rather the residual effects of la joie de vie. Translation: "I gotta get back to the front so I can get some rest!"
Boom's right--you gotta watch out for the quiet ones.

I once saw a rather hilarious semi-porno flick, "Fannie Hill meets the Red Baron". It painted MvR as quite a studly guy. I rmember the aviation scenes were shot at Old Rheinbeck Airport.
