Please accept my deep condolences on your father's passing.

I "knew" him, so to speak, from his postings on this forum and found him to be an interesting, inquisitive and fair-minded person.

Like his other colleagues here, I shall miss him and his contributions to World War I aviation history.

Sincerely,

Peter Kilduff

A sad surprise to hear the news of Barry's passing. I hope his family finds comfort in the knowledge that Barry was a well-liked and respected member here.

The Forum will be forever the less without his cheerful posts and his "likes" for everyone else's efforts.

I regret that I never had the chance to meet Barry. Despite that, I consider him to have been a good friend. We exchanged numerous emails and Christmas cards and he always signed off with "Your Aussie mate, Baz." Never did ask him, why "Baz."

Cheers, old mate and RIP.

Tony

Very sad to hear the news. At least the family will know that he was highly regarded on this forum. Like so many others I never met him -but always regarded him as a friend. He will definitely be missed by all.

Tony,

Baz is Aussie slang for Barry, as is Bluey for any male redhead, Ando for Andrew etc.

It certainly is surprising, and shocking to hear this sad and unexpected news. I agree, he will be missed by many and he certainly was cheerful and very friendly. Baz is short (Australian slang) for Barry. I used to call him big bad Bazza!

Hello, Barry's daughter. You make sure that your sons and daughters and Barry's other great neices and nephews know what a gentleman, scholar and massive credit to his heritage he was. Hard as it may be, do all you can, in his memory, to have his descendants value and appreciate the traditions that formed blokes like Barry to set up the country and lives that we enjoy, not because we've done anything but have the advantage of what our ancestors endured. I'll remember Barry in my prayers.

Great patio you have.

God Bless Barry
